Roar Roots has been founded based on a love of coffee, experiencing new flavours and savouring your favourites.

Since I can remember, I’ve loved that experience of an early morning espresso. Savouring the smell of freshly ground beans and watching the black, velvety liquid fill my cup.

Whilst this may sound like an overly romantic take on a simple task - I believe that a lot of people can judge how well their day is going to go by the quality of that first coffee of the day. It sets the tone. Gives you that first kick into existence and fire the neurons that allow us to get on with the day ahead.

I’ve spent a lot of time drinking coffee, trying different origins and blends and often found that I’ve never settled on a single one - similarly to my preferences on whiskey - experiencing new flavours, different sensations of smell, the first taste and the “pick me up” affect have always been something that’s kept me trying new coffees over the years. For others, it’s about the “go-to” brew - the one you can trust! The solid statement of intent in the morning that as soon as your lips hit the cup, you know what you’re going to get.

So, with Roar Roots, I wanted to create a place that embraces both roads.

For those who want to expand their palate, Roar Roots is somewhere that you can experience new flavours of coffee and have it ground in a way that suits a style of brew you’re trying. We’ll be bringing special edition coffees to the table to allow you to experience something different - over time we’ll give you an ability to manage your account in a way that allows you to understand the flavours that suit you and choose based on that profile. We want to come on that journey with you!

For those who know what they want, who want that standard, solid approach of having your specific origin or blend. Those who want to stick to the well trodden path of your chosen grind - just pick how regularly you need it to arrive with our (soon to launch) subscriptions!
